Janet M. Stengle

Janet Stengle is an associate in Marshall Brown’s commercial real estate and land use practices. Ms. Stengle focuses her practice on commercial leasing and development, zoning and land use, historic preservation and economic incentives.

In her commercial leasing and development practice, Mrs. Stengle represents major landlords with national portfolios in retail and office leasing. She has negotiated leases with national franchise concepts and retail brands. Ms. Stengle also focuses on shopping center development and property management. She has handled multiple commercial litigation cases on behalf of real estate development clients.

Ms. Stengle has worked with real estate developers, corporations, cultural institutions and nonprofit organizations in the greater Chicago area on cases involving local zoning approvals and historic tax credit incentives. These approvals include special use permits, variations and zoning amendments. Ms. Stengle also works with clients to obtain Class L Property Tax Incentives for the redevelopment of historic Chicago landmark buildings. Her land use experience includes approvals for subdivisions, vacations and dedications.

Ms. Stengle is a member of the Skyline Council, which is the young professional committee of Landmarks Illinois. She is also active in the Notre Dame Alumni Association as vice-president of the Class of 2018.
